The Kammavar Association of North America (KANA) is envisioned to become a patronizing organization uniting all Kammavars from Tamil Nadu, living in North America. It is a common desire to make it a charitable organization, non-political, non-profit, non-religious, community-based, 501 C(3) Tax-Exempt Organization under Federal Tax ID Number: 82-1196668, founded in 2017, uniting all those Kammavars belonging to a common heritage
Objectives/Purposes
The main objectives of this organization are to:
Connect all Kammavars in North America
Nurture and preserve the rich tradition and cultural heritage of the community
Educate and spread the values of KANA to future generations
Promote solidarity and friendship within the KANA community
Raise social consciousness and spearheading efforts in aiding charitable, educational, agricultural and other social causes
Assist underprivileged Kammavars of Tamil Nadu around the world by providing them support & connections in pursuit of academic achievements as well as assistance in acquiring employment
Cultivate, promote and foster an exchange of ideas within the Kammavar youth and motivate them to get actively involved within the community.
Enable social justice campaigns and support KANA’s chosen causes with the goal of increasing awareness of these issues and passing these on to future generations of KANA to continue to lead this effort
Provide a basis for academic, spiritual, cultural and intellectual interactions with the Kammavars of the Tamil Nadu community across the United States and abroad
Vision
KANA aspires to connect Indian Americans who immigrated from Tamil Nadu with each other and form a similar community, with the hope that it will serve as a home away from home.
